I've been developing websites for years. Decades, in fact! I ran a graphic design and website development agency for many years before pivoting to a more hands on model that involves working long term with my clients. Most agencies work on a project basis, i.e build the site, move on. Every change is a new project, and is charged accordingly. This often leaves the customer frustrated and floundering on their own.  It has been my experience that most businesses, small businesses in particular, need help beyond the build. In fact, that's where the real work starts. That's where my skills are of most value.

Option 1: Building Your Business

The majority of my clients are long term and we work as a team to build their site, and more importantly, their business beyond the launch.

Building a site without a plan for using it, and a process to execute that plan, is like buying a car that is never driven. Looks nice, but it's not going anywhere!

If you're looking to build your business, win new clients, find more of your ideal clients, etc, then this is for you!

Option 2: One-off Projects

I take on one-off website projects from time to time. There are circumstances that don't warrant ongoing development, management, or coaching, and in these cases I may take on the project as a one-off.

For example, you may have a team that handles the ongoing marketing needs, or have skills in this area yourself, and your only requirement is getting a site built.

If that's the case, and your requirement is a pure design and build, with no need for any assistance beyond that, then this is the option for you.

Flexible Architecture

What does that even mean?! Fair question! It simply means that websites I build are done in such a way as to be easy to modify without having to have a degree in computer science!

Why does this matter? Again, good question. Well, it matters for a few reasons:

One, even if you have a development team working on your site, being easy to modify should in theory keep the cost of changes to a minimum. (No guarantee they'll be honest about it of course, but... )

Two, it makes it easier to manage changes in-house. If you like to do things yourself, it helps!

Three, it means the site is faster, leaner and more future proof.

Note: this in no way compromises the quality of the site. If anything, it's an improvement on most of the methods I see used.

Visitor Focused

A website should be focused on visitors to the site, i.e existing customers and potential customers. I have news for you; most people are only interested in themselves. So, it stands to reason that a site that focuses on the wants and needs of the visitor, and makes it easier for them to get those things, will be more successful.

There is a process to understanding this, but it's central to developing a site that works. If you have an existing site and you want feedback on how it is performing, you can book a time with me to do a deep dive evaluation of your site.

If I am developing a site for you, that's all part of the process.

 Reliable

A site needs to be reliable. There are many parts to this too, but how it's built, the components used, the code that is written, the speed, the structure, etc, all play a part. So. it's important that reliable components are used that work well together and are well supported.

I build exclusively in WordPress. It's made up of core software, themes and plugins. I only use quality, well supported and documented elements that I know will be reliable for the long term.
