Site Build, Done Right!

I've been developing websites for years. Decades, in fact! I ran a graphic design and website development agency for many years before pivoting to a more hands on model that involves working long term with my clients.
That said, I take on project work where circumstances warranty it. And by project work I simply mean that the focus is on the site build, with minimal, or no, involvement beyond that point.

Site Build, Done Right!

Just because I may not be actively involved beyond the launch of a site, doesn't mean that things aren't done to the highest standards.

Whether we are looking at a long term business building  exercise, the bulk of my work, or a short term site building project, the same high standard applies. No shortcuts!

In some ways, knowing that a client, or their team, will be managing the site beyond launch, makes it even more important to get it right first time.

Flexible Architecture

What does that even mean?! Fair question! It simply means that websites I build are done in such a way as to be easy to modify without having to have a degree in computer science!

Why does this matter? Again, good question. Well, it matters for a few reasons:

One, even if you have a development team working on your site, being easy to modify should in theory keep the cost of changes to a minimum. (No guarantee they'll be honest about it of course, but... )

Two, it makes it easier to manage changes in-house. If you like to do things yourself, it helps!

Three, it means the site is faster, leaner and more future proof.

Note: this in no way compromises the quality of the site. If anything, it's an improvement on most of the methods I see used.

Visitor Focused

A website should be focused on visitors to the site, i.e existing customers and potential customers. I have news for you; most people are only interested in themselves. So, it stands to reason that a site that focuses on the wants and needs of the visitor, and makes it easier for them to get those things, will be more successful.

There is a process to understanding this, but it's central to developing a site that works. If you have an existing site and you want feedback on how it is performing, you can book a time with me to do a deep dive evaluation of your site.

If I am developing a site for you, that's all part of the process.

 Reliable, Secure, Fast

A site needs to be reliable. There are many parts to this too, but how it's built, the components used, the code that is written, the speed, the structure, etc, all play a part. So. it's important that reliable components are used that work well together and are well supported.

I build exclusively in WordPress. It's made up of core software, themes and plugins. I only use quality, well supported and documented elements that I know will be reliable for the long term.
